The Secret History of the October Club: From its Original to this Time. By a Member.

London: Printed in the Year, 1711. First Edition
Cr. 8vo, [iv], 86 pp, 1 leaf blank, originally stab-stitched, then bound, now disbound in plain paper wrappers, half-title a little dusty.
The October Club was a Tory pressure group founded at the end of 1710 to demand the dismissal of all remainingWhigs from the cabinet and the impeachment of Godolphin and Wharton. The present pamphlet sketches political developments since the Revolution, showing how the October Club members are descendants of the nonjurors and high-flyers who emerged then.
A second part was published later the same year, as well as several more editions of this first part.
