Venice : Apud Iuntas [Giunta] 1576. 8vo, ✠8, ✠✠4, A-Y8, [12], 176 leaves, gothic letter, title-page in black and red with Giunta’s device in red and again on colophon leaf, 12 preliminary leaves with Calendar, and 176 leaves, 27 lines, printed in black and red thoughout, full-page woodcut of David with bow in hand and viol (5 strings) at foot facing A1, historiated woodcut initials, bound in contemporary Venetian morocco fully gilt with, on each cover, a central escutcheon with the initial SMB, surrounded by leafy sprays and cornerpieces, edges gilt and gauffred, brass clasps and catches, re-backed [early 20th cent?], spine fully gilt, endpapers renewed, engraved bookplate of “Henricus B. Wheatley ex libris tegumine illustrioribus” on front paste down, a lttle wear to corners of boards, but a very nice copy.

We have found no record of this edition in OCLC, USTC, or Library Hub. However a copy did appear at Swann Galleries in 2017 and there are two other listings at Sotheby’s, in 1931 and 1948, the earlier of which could possibly have been the present copy.
